Leadership Burbank Hosts Virtual Master Class Interactive Workshop: Leading In Uncertain Times
With Facilitator, Nancy Olson, Regional Expert in Leadership and Professional Development
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Burbank, California March 3, 2021 – The Board of Directors of Leadership Burbank invites the community to an inspiring virtual Master Class entitled “Leading In Uncertain Times” on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 9am to 10am. The first in a new series, this Master Class will provide practical tools through interactive discussion for leadership during a long-term crisis, while also maintaining personal resilience and well-being.
In its 25th Anniversary Year, Leadership Burbank is offering innovative solutions to build a better Burbank and welcomes regional leader, Nancy Olson, to facilitate the conversation. With a master’s degree in leadership from Woodbury University, Nancy Olson currently leads professional development and employee engagement at Humboldt State University. Prior to moving to Humboldt County in 2019, she served as Executive Director at Southern California Leadership Network and Vice President of the Center for Leadership at the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce where she led and facilitated their prestigious programs, Leadership L.A., Leadership Southern California and California Connections, among others.
Albert Hernandez, Chair of Leadership Burbank’s Board of Directors, stated, “Leadership Burbank is so proud to partner with Nancy Olson, a visionary in leadership development, to offer this Master Class Workshop to the Burbank community and beyond. The topic we have identified, Leading in Uncertain Times, is of great importance for all of us and will provide each participant with resources that can be brought back to the office, neighborhood, and even the home.”
Nancy Olson shared, “The toll of the pandemic on leaders cannot be overestimated. Not only are they responsible for the success of their businesses, nonprofits and government agencies, they must authentically engage with empathy and understanding for their team members. Leaders must also manage their own well-being and that of their families. These are complex times, demanding clear communication, mindfulness and a nimble approach to strategy. I truly look forward to exploring all this with participants on March 9.”
The Master Class will be hosted virtually and is open to Leadership Burbank Alumni and the community for a donation of twenty-five dollars if you register before March 5th and thirty-five dollars if you register after March 5th. This is the first workshop of the Master Class program that will explore current topics in leadership development and a more regional focus that connects Burbank to the Greater Los Angeles area.

Jamie Keyser, LB Board Member, stated “When I think of influential leaders a name that quickly comes to mind is Nancy Olson. I’ve had the privilege of working with Nancy in many different capacities for over a decade and was part of the task force that welcomed her to Los Angeles. During that time, she quickly emerged as a powerful leader in the LA community who made significant strides in the nonprofit sector. She helped to change the leadership paradigm through her investment and oversight with the LA Chamber of Commerce where she lead the efforts for the Center for Leadership, Southern California Leadership Network and NextLA. Personally, Nancy has been a valued mentor and helped guide my leadership growth and is someone I have the pleasure of calling my dear friend.”
